About Book Club of Shadows
Most journeys into witchcraft start with a bit of curiosity about magick. With limited options for a traditional education in the craft, most turn to books. But it can be hard to critically assess and fully understand the content being read when you're on your own. This desire to dig deeper is why the Book Club of Shadows was born.

Our Book Club’s Owner, Sabrina, was one of the many witches who bravely ventured into the realm of witchcraft alone. She read, and researched, and practiced what she learned, but always felt like there were gaps in her knowledge. It was hard to walk down this new path confidently when she didn’t know what she didn’t know. It wasn’t until she met others on a similar path, all asking questions she’d never considered, that those gaps started to fill.

The more she got together with other witches and talked about the craft, the more she realized she wasn’t the only one struggling. It also became clear that having a community to connect with was a not only craved by solitary practitioners, but was a large benefit to their individual practice. So Sabrina joined a Grove, organized by the owner of a local witchcraft supply store, and her craft sored from there.

The original Book Club of Shadows was created after the Grove was set to stop meeting regularly. A book club was suggested as a fun way to stay connected and continue learning after. Sabrina took a liking to help organize the group, setting the meet dates, creating a discussion guide, and vetting future reads. She found by putting more intention into reading critically using the guides she had prepared, it profoundly helped her expand her craft. Rather than keep this strategy to herself, she brainstormed ways to share it with others and finally landed on making an officially book club.
